SEE grading system in Nepal

The Office of the Controller of Examinations OCE switched SLC into SEE and introduced a new grading system in Nepal in 2016. Before 2016 the SEE result was announced in percentages. The grading system was implemented to increase the literacy rate of Nepal. Before the implementation of the SEE grading system, students received “failed” if they failed to secure pass marks. That rendered many students quit school.

Today, The SEE result is published as a GPA. The GPA stands for Grade Point Average. The Maximum GPA score of SEE is 4.00. The GPA is calculated using the percentages obtained in each subject. Both the sum of the average of the theory and the practical marks are also included while calculating the GPA. The following chart shows the grading system of Nepal.
